Stock Pack, a division of a Ashtonne International LLC, was started in 2007 by Dan Schlitt and Chad Honaker. Both partners answered the call of entrepreneurship to start their own company after successfully enabling other companies to grow their business. “Each of us was successful in our own way, but both of us felt the need to chart our own course by starting our own venture.”

Dan Schlitt, a 17-year veteran of the packaging industry, began his career on the West Coast, selling corrugated materials for an integrated forest products company in Northern California. Upon starting his family, Dan and his wife, Sherri, wanted to raise their kids with “Midwestern values and culture.” Leaving a very lucrative sales territory in California was difficult, but family goals prevailed over career goals. They moved back to Ohio and Dan developed a very large and profitable sales territory in NE Ohio. His success was rewarded and Dan was promoted to sales manager. The plants he managed grew both in volume and profits, and several awards were bestowed on the plants. However, Dan felt as if he was missing something and yearned for something deeper. Stock Pack was created to fill this void. “I have always wanted to lead my own business, to set the path, to make the decisions, and to be the one to establish and nurture the culture that breeds teamwork and common goals. Chad and I started this company with one goal in mind: to build a company for us and our employees to have a balanced lifestyle that is conducive to raising a family, helping the community, and enjoying life.”

Chad Honaker, an Ashland, Ohio native, has a much different professional background than that of Dan. He began his professional career performing financial and tax consulting services as part of a large regional accounting firm. After spending over eight years in the financial services industry, he left to take on the role of CFO in a fast growing children’s publishing company based in Ashland. The company prospered during Chad’s four and a half year tenure as its chief of finance and operations, becoming the leading children’s book publisher in the country at the time of Chad’s departure. With the solid support of his wife Erika, Chad left the security of an officer position in a successful company to focus on the growth and success of Stock Pack. “The concept of being a business owner is one that both Dan and I have been working towards, separately and in our own fashion, most of our professional careers. With the industry specific knowledge that Dan had, coupled with the financial and operational background that I had, we felt that we complemented each other perfectly. Dan and I are both fully vested in making Stock Pack a long term success!”
